Sedona, AZ has some of the most incredible views I’ve seen. The red rock really is amazing and the varying sun angles make the rocks look very different. This first view can be seen on Google Maps and was taken at 1/250 sec exposure at f8 on March 16, 2009. The focal length was 105 mm at ISO 200.

This next image is an HDR photo of the Courthouse Butte taken near sunset from the trail leading back to the parking lot. If you look at the exact location, and zoom out, you can see the angle the image was taken too.

The last photo I’ll put up for this day is of Bell Rock, aptly named for its shape. Lynette, Nicholas & I hiked to the back side of Courthouse Butte, then chickened out since sunset was only an hour away. Nathan & Danielle made the 4.3 mile hike all the way around Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock and still made it back to the parking lot before me. Guess I was taking too many photos. A few of these images I used my Gitzo monopod with the Markins ballhead. Take a peak at the location this photo was taken. Time for some sleep. I’ll try to get more photos put up from our next day’s adventure to the Grand Canyon.
